About Me

I jump on my bike at 4 AM and ride 15 KM every day to wake myself up for the day.

My ultimate goal is to contribute to the progress of science, technology and innovation (STI) in my country, Colombia, and other global south latitudes, working alongside students, colleagues, and mentors.

I've been working in higher education since 2012. As a professor at Universidad del Rosario School of Management and Business, Colombia. I am also the head of SCIN Data, a lab where I work with (under)graduate students and colleagues from all around the world to uncover the underlying structure of STI.

The ideas I've built with colleagues have been published in journals such as Quantitative Science Studies, Scientometrics, Journal of Information Science and PLoS ONE. I'm also contributing to journals such as PLoS ONE and HSSComms as a member of their editorial boards.

In addition, I am PhD-candidate in Engineering, affiliated to TESO group at Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia, while striving to maintain my sanity : D

I’ll always will be indebted to a constellation of brighter institutions that allowed me to visit as a researcher/lecturer or established a worthwhile partnership, such as the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Germany); Georgia Tech (USA); Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Spain), Universidad de Granada (Spain); University of California, Berkeley (USA);  Fudan University (China); and Woxsen University (India).

Let’s chat! I'll buy you the first colombian coffee
