ABOUT ME

I’m Julián David Cortés, a researcher and educator dedicated to advancing Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Colombia and across the Global South. For over a decade, I’ve worked in higher education, striving to connect research communities in Latin America with global academic networks.

Currently, I’m a professor at Universidad del Rosario’s School of Management and Business in Bogotá, Colombia, and I lead SCIN Data Lab, where I collaborate with students and scholars from around the world. My work focuses on uncovering the structural complexities of STI systems, helping to drive technological innovation in emerging economies.

I hold a PhD in Engineering, a MSc in Development Studies, and a BA in International Business Management. Since 2012, I have been actively involved in teaching and research, with a focus on science of science, scientometrics, bibliometrics, and STI policy.
